What is MRI?

What is MRI?

MRI is the chosen procedure for diagnosing a large number of potential problems or abnormal conditions in many different parts of the body.  An MRI creates images that can help show difference between health and unhealthy tissues.  Unlike many of the forms of Medical Imaging, an MRI uses powerful magnets to produce images instead of Radiation. Physicians all over the world use MRI’s to examine part of the body such as the brain, spine, joints, knee, shoulder, hip, wrist, ankle, abdomen, pelvis, breast, and heart.
Here at Radiology Associates of Albuquerque, High Resolution, and Albuquerque Imaging Center we have a total of 4 MRI’s available for our patients.  One of our MRI’s is a wide open MRI which makes the experience much more comfortable for those patients who are very claustrophobic.  We also have a Wide Bore MRI that is 70cm wider than the traditional MRI which also helps with comfort for our patients.  To learn more about our facility and services please visit our website at www.raaonline.com.
